Minecraft server performance comes down to three things: Hardware, Software and the optimizations. While optimization doesn’t always seem essential, if not done, it won’t matter how good your software or hardware is.

To begin:

  • For diagnostics, make sure to use Spark: Spark Installer
    • This is a Plugin and Mod addon, with a guide on how to use it here: Spark Guide
  • Next is the optimization itself, a good guide to follow is: Optimize Guide
    • While you may not need to add every optimization, this gives you a general cleanup of your server
